SLIBA - Bernardo Araujo Childhood Leukemia Society is a nonprofit
organization dedicated to help patients with
leukemia, mainly children, which seeks to
disseminate information about treatment options and also fights
to
increase stem cell donors in Brazil as well as better chances of patients
having a stem cell transplantation as a gift
of life. SLIBA is located in Rio de Janeiro and was founded in 1999 by
its president Jorge Araujo, father of Bernardo
Araujo, who died of leukemia (ALL) on Dec. 30th, 1998 with 11 years
old.
